Toile Tote Bag - Wild Ginger Sewing Pattern

Published by christinem at 1:59 pm under sewing patterns Edit This

This tote bag is made from remnants of other projects and based on a Wild Ginger pattern.  I did not make any changes at the pattern drafting level.  I cut additional body and side pieces to form a lining.  And I used buckram in the side/bottom lining.  (The piece wraps down and under.)

I cut two large patch pockets, but stretched a piece of narrow elastic along the top to prevent things from falling out, and divided each pocket in two with a stitch line.  So, although I did print out one large patch pocket from the pattern software; I did not use it as a patch pocket.

I also reinforced the straps with stitch witchery.

If I feel ambitious, I may make a matching clutch purse .  Though it would need a different lining, as the print on the tote lining is very large.
