Girls Dress Butterfly Print

Published by christinem at 11:05 am under sewing Edit This

This is a variation of Simplicity girls dress pattern 5284. My daughter calls it Papillon Dress.

The fabric came out of my SILs fabric stash.  I matched the pocket on the print, rather than centering it, and added a ribbon trim at the bottom.

I have also used this pattern to make a reversible dress , and dress in a ballet print.  This fabric was cut at the same time as the ballet print dress , stacking the two fabrics one on top of the other and cutting all layers at once.  So the armscye is equally too large on this dress; as I discovered I should adjust it after cutting them both.

Laura, I can understand how that happens. I avoid all network and pc work like the plague, since I married my husband. I could do it. He’s just better at it.

Marne, I’m amazed that you had this fabric first. I thought of you while I photographed the dress thinking you would be saying to yourself, oh no, I am blinded by the brights.
