Six Inch Skirt Pattern
Why should the kids have all the fun? Here, the pillowcase dress grows up. And mom gets a skirt in a hurry.
How to make the Six Inch Skirt:
- Measure your hips. Add six inches to that measure.
- Cut fabric width to your hip measure plus six inches. Length can vary. But don’t make it more than two inches past the knee or you’ll need a different pattern - with a slit. (For reference, I’m 5′4 and prefer a 21″ hem, which is just above the knee.)
- If you have a ready hem, such as this fluttery one from a vintage sheet, you can hem from the waist . Skip to step #4. Otherwise, just hem.
- Create a side seam.
- Make a casing and insert elastic. Voila! Six inch skirt.
